The 9-Day Adventure package includes the Ella zipline across the valley and a visit to Diyaluma Falls — one of Sri Lanka's highest cascades. This is a destination that rewards both the active hiker and the traveller who simply wants to sit with a cup of fresh Ceylon tea and watch the mist roll across the mountains.
Why Visit Ella:
• Nine Arch Bridge — Sri Lanka's most photographed landmark, and a true engineering wonder
• Little Adam's Peak — an accessible hike with one of the island's finest panoramic views
• Ravana Falls — a wide, dramatic waterfall set in lush jungle
• Ella Gap zipline and Diyaluma Falls — adventure highlights of the 9-Day package
Ella is the adventure centrepiece of our 9-Day Adventure Tour, 12-Day Complete Sri Lanka and 14-Day Grand Tour — with the blue train journey from Kandy through tea country being one of the most beautiful train rides in the world.
Why visit this destination
Sri Lanka's most loved highland village — waterfalls, iconic bridges and breathtaking mountain views.
Ella is a small highland town that has become one of Sri Lanka's most iconic destinations — and for good reason. Perched in the southern hill country at around 1,000 metres, it offers a remarkable combination of dramatic scenery, adventure activities, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Cosy cafes, sweeping views over the Ella Gap, and trails through tea estates and jungle make it a place that travellers consistently extend their stay.
The Nine Arch Bridge — a colonial-era viaduct built without steel, using only stone, brick, and cement — is one of the most photographed structures in Sri Lanka. Watching a blue train emerge from the jungle and roll across the arches above a valley of tea bushes is one of those travel moments that simply cannot be replicated. Little Adam's Peak offers a gentler trek with panoramic highland views, while Ravana Falls, one of Sri Lanka's widest waterfalls, lies just minutes away.
